Week 1

Info About Me: My name is Katelyn Brisby and I am in my final year at LBCC. Currently I am working on my Oregon Transfer Degree and after this year I will be transferring to Western Oregon to work on my Criminal Justice Degree. I was originally working towards my Criminal Justice degree here at LBCC but because I switched I was required to take a wider variety of classes therefor her I am in Photojournalism (JN 134). I have a little bit of knowledge about taking pictures. In high school we did do a photography unity ; my father also works for Hise Studios as a side job and I have helped him out with somethings. As for editing, my knowledge is Instagram and their fun filters/ limited editing tools.

Goals: My goals for this class are being more social. I feel bad interrupting people to ask them information to put as a caption for my photos. My second goal would be just working on my photography skills. I would like to get more artsy photos or even just appealing photos instead of the normal straight on shot. My third and final goal would be just widening my knowledge of photojournalism as a whole and appreciating the field more.

Future Photos:
  • Classrooms- Looking up when interesting classes are such as Art, Science, or classes that have labs. I could get pictures of them actually doing things other than studying or writing things down. I could get pictures of them and their artwork, students using equipment, or them in the middle of doing an activity where they are actually doing something.
  • Booths- I could take pictures of students interacting with the different booths that are available in the quad. Take an overview of the whole booth, get close up of students, and then the students with the person running the booth,
  • Benton Center Activities Room- The Benton Center offers may classes such as Yoga and many dance classes. There is a dance class that runs when I get out of one of my classes. I could take pictures of them stretching, dancing, and close up of their movements such as when they are doing a turn get a close up of their feet.

Beginning Photos
Oregon State fraternity Sigma Nu is playing bubble soccer in the field across from their house on September 28th at 5pm as one of their activities for rush week.

English 204 was gathered in the quad of LBCC Albany campus on September 28th. Katie Allen was partnered up with another student; together they were talking about their favorite book and why it was their favorite.

As students walked by this booth on Friday morning, September 30th, Devin Hutchings asked if they were registered to vote. If not they could register to vote at the booth. The booth also offered buttons and stickers.
